Maintain the status quo. here is what kibaki is curently doing. building 8 lanes no nowhere just to aleviate traffic and ease transportation of coffee to jommo kenyatta. instead of improving the whole country economy by building roads to other areas to broaden development here is a classic one.

Bad road makes access to key border town market a nightmare for traders

The once famous Taveta Market, which served thousands of traders from Kenya and Tanzania is on its knees, thanks to a bad road that has made access to the border town a nightmare
Farmers and traders are now incurring huge losses as their fresh agricultural produce goes to waste due to the dilapidated state of the Voi-Mwatate-Taveta road.

During its heyday in the ’80s and ’90s, the market was both popular and vibrant, thanks to easy access by road and railway-- remember who was president then??
In the past, traders used to travel from as far as Eldoret, Kisumu, Nairobi, Mombasa and even parts of Tanzania to attend our market days, but that is no longer the case due to the poor state of the road,” Taveta Town Clerk Mohammed Rashid said.

For the sake of those who have some reasoning left in their mellons. Uhuru will do exact same thing. ohh heck he will extend the 10 lane highway to muranga yet the whole country will be dusty roads think guys dont just be stooges and not have your own sense of independent thinking that actually benefits you not the guy you following like a fakin dog

uhuru's only chance at serving Kenyans remains in being shoved in by fellow Mingiki. The guy will never he elected to any national position that requires a fair vote of all Kenyans.

Hi Lyud. I was imagining Obama coming to Kenya at the end of his 2nd term or any other western european leader or foreign minister being met by President Uhuru Kenyattaa who will also be a defendant at the Hague or according to RV pundit will have exercised his immunity as pork and refused like Bashir to be tried at the Hague. It is when you imagine a scenerio like that when you know this guy is wasting his time running for PORK.

The brightest spot in Uhurus future is that he will be exonerated at Hague. That of course is tossing a coin. All else is madman braggodocio.

Ah Independent - you bring some fond memories back - part of my mum's side is Taita and I remember going to Taita / Taveta regularly as a kid. Great memories - thanks for the reminder. Sadly you are right the - whole area has been neglected. There was some talk about branching of the railway line from Voi to go to Moshi and Arusha - especially for siku ya soko - not sure what has transpired here now.. Great Great place. Shame it's not experienced any development. Bloody rich in minerals - which the Chinese will end up benefiting with some Nairobi owners of Kenya benefiting, of course.
