The departure of Hon. John Michuki, the Minister for Environment and Natural Resources, is both shocking and sudden. At this difficult time, my prayers and those of my family are with his family, friends and the constituents of Kangema. Hon. Michuki’s death robs the country of an illustrious, dedicated and focused leader. He rose from humble origins to be a trailblazer in public life – Provincial Administrator, Permanent Secretary, Bank Executive, MP and Cabinet Minister. In all these spheres, he left an indelible mark: law and order in public transport, Environment, Development in Kangema among others. Kenya will miss this resolute man who did not wait for things to happen. He made them happen.
