I agree that letting things stay the way they are in somalia and dreaming of exerting non existant influence in far off places like KIVU is just nothing but wish full thinking...
SOMALIA is kenyas main catalyst for insecurity both domestic and on the high seas..

I' am sort of lost here. It looks like posts from different blogs elsewhere have sort of been mixed up here. The Somali stability being mixed with posts of Kenya armed forces pictures. Anyhow may be things will become clearer as we move on.Thanks.

@ Jasiri,
Oh come back man, let's help shape this site the way we did in the Chronicle. Don't forget, we have not really left the Chronicle.

Some guys are saying that his actions warrant a court Martial..Personally, I think it's cool, being a tax payer, I wouldn't mind seeing a face to the Jets that keep flying since my childhood., And Im a tax payer.

Any input guys from the discplined forces?

 first al all alehandro, a right to know even if constitutional, is not absolute. All personal rights end at the point that their continued enjoyment infringes on the rights of others. On these matters of National Security, with the propensity to affect all of us, your need to know is weighed against our collective security that may be endangered by your knowing. It is not being paranoid being rather too careful than careless, on such matters, and the typical cost-benefit analysis must apply to this as well. Not certain if Maj. Kinuthia slipped up or if these pics were plucked for the ether by intention or inadvertently. The pics are kinda mundane, little more the airframe from different angles, really. Dangit, I know Eric, and doubt the indiscretion was his - I am sure our Agencies are looking into it now. Lets not get morbid about issues particularly those that carry disproptionate risks to subject on discussion. Tafadhali.

whille i am tending to agree with COLONEL ole nkerais sentiments above i think we should be carefull when dealing with such matters so that we do not negatively impact on this individual in the picture.ON my last count it costs a good amount over 6million dollars to train a good fighter pilot therefore pictures like these that directly link a frontline Kenyan military operational face to an activity should be discouraged for now.
ALTHOUGH ONE CAN URGUE that we have hundreds of kenyan military pictures doing the rounds such us this one below plus articles like this one attached from the daily nation touching on the very careers and the countrys security and destiny.

therefore i pray that major ERIC is not unduly victimized for this picture .

IN FACT ON HINDSIGHT IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER TO KINDLY ASK THE BLOGG ADMIN TO SPECIFICALY TAKE DOWN THAT picture that is identifying major eric for his own safety and others.

:( My exact plea to the Admin, Spider. You of all of us must understand the necessity of "facelessness" on open sites running threads that push the parameters of the definition of sedition / treason. You loose this, you drive the Uniforms away, Nairobipundit. This night not fatally injure the blog but I think the loss of their particularl slant on Military and Intelligence discourse can't be enrichening to the blog. Please consider taking down the clips with a recognisable face and explicit name and rank on them. Asante kaka.

Wow. In that case the admin should get rid of the photos.. I never realised the cost of training a good pilot was that high. Plus the risk of putting a front line defence guy in the limelight.. Well I doubt however published his photos had bad intentions because the heading to his post seemed to sing praises rather than be more concerned with revealing identity.
