Alcoholic Muthutho and Other Mpigs Need to Get Serious

Discussion of general formal issues!

Every now and again the MPs are moving mediocre motions whilst time is running out for the passage of very serious bills.

Muthotho now wants to raise the alcohol consumption age from 18 to 21 years and one wonders how that alone is going to contribute in controlling the vice. Rather than looking for practical alternatives like entrenching deep family values in our society, fighting the mongrel called youth unemployment, fight corruption that is consuming money meant for worthy courses, etc etc, the Naivasha MP seems not sure on the way forward.

Muthotho is opening another front of getting campaign money in the form of kickbacks from the liquor manufacturers who will sooner or later prevail upon him to go slow with the motion. Next he will write a letter to Marende claiming that his life is in danger.NKT

The bill is coming to soon after the initial Muthotho alcohol laws proved to be a total mess and failure. Rather than controlling booze consumption, it only hastened it. I think (not sure whether legislation allows) issues such as these should be a preserve of county governments, for instance Muranga county could welcome this news more than say, Turkana county. We have different priorities as counties and Muthotho shouldn't shove down his Naivasha problems down everybody's throat.

if i could join the military or police service at 18 yrs and be trained to kill die for for my country... then nobody should tell me what i drink or eat because of age below 21yrs
mututho is one hell of an arsehole and if push comes to shove the bill will not pass.
