It is between flames and walking on burning embers. The option is public service. They swallow the baby and the mother in one go. Atleast the non profit munches on the baby's limbs but leaves it and its mother largely intact. When faced with massive and arrogant corruption, the donors intent on helping the poor, have few alternatives. They have now covered most of the sectors. Soon all monies for rural electrification will start being channelled thro NGOs. Reason: Massive corruption. It is not just in Kenya, it's everywhere.

Why not channel money thro for-profit sector...as long as it target the bottom of pyramid..like DFID/MPESA deal with vodafone. Gov and NGOS are just opaque. Private sector rep only hope.
The only hope for kenya is devolution
It is being done. In fact it started over 15 years ago. It expanded in Iraq to a new height. Hurlliburton companies benefitted a great deal. My take is that there is very little difference. Levels of corruption and incompetence remain the same - profit or none.RV Pundit wrote:Why not channel money thro for-profit sector...as long as it target the bottom of pyramid..like DFID/MPESA deal with vodafone. The best alternative: Clean government of corruption and have it providing services to its people. That will not happen soon.
