One Sentence -Let it Go Its Over

Unread post by nowayhaha » Sat Oct 14, 2017 12:02 am

Raila made a fundamental mistake of going to courts where the Wakora 4 called for a repeat election.

Nasa politicians, Pundits and supporters are pyschologically beaten . Its so worse that they are hurting as if one of their own has passed on. When we say dont invest that emotionally in elections they thought it was a joke.

Good point.

It was a catch 22 situation.
Initially he felt threats of boycott would scare Jubilee and IEBC into compromise. Thet failed. He wasted enough time not campaigning. By the time he realized his bluff was not paying, he made good his withdrawal. But at the same time feels he must carry on with demos.

I’m certain there will be another petition, and it won’t overturn Uhunye’s sure victory.

The very Wakora Network will work against Baba and he will accuse them of bowing to Jubilee’s Pressure :D

Remember when Uhuru attempted in 2013 to withdraw from presidential elections and instead support Mudavadi....It backfired real bad .....thats a recipe for voter apathy and he almost wrote his political obituary....then he had Mademoni to blame....will Raila make a come back and who will he blame for misguiding him

Nasa insiders now secretly admit. Railas move to abandon elections was miscalculated. Most not happy with Orengo.

From one miscalculation to the other now is Nasa Resistance Militia - The next day he was back tracking saying its an arm of NASA where as in the previous day he had indicated they had transformed NASA to Nasa Resistance Miltia . Who is advising Raila - Can he be consistent atleast for once .

Good punditry. Spot on.
Raila bluff was called. And he didn't have much choice at the end but to actually withdraw. Tellingly, its only his Luo Nyanza that VIOLENTLY resisted even setting up of polling station by IEBC. Ukambani were largely civil about it. Their silence spoke for them.

But more fundamentally, we should appreciate the Gema/RV political alliance. Because without such a solid alliance assured of numbers, then the situation would have degenerated into 2007/08 levels. Raila always want to play the game of isolating others and whipping up emotions. He is very good at it. But this time his incendiary rhetoric of Mungiki militia, Kikuyu chauvinism, ethnic mafia etc has not got traction. It has consistently failed.

However, lets be honest and appreciate that Raila has a significant following. Followers ready to die for him and listen to his every word. Therefore this saga is not over so quickly. It will get testy before it get better. Let's hear what his grand plan is.

In political competitions, knowing your political opponent weakness and strength is key. Jubilee knew jaCon had less numbers(weakness) and upper hand at the courts (strength). To mitigate the disaster, dynamic duo used their strength numbers in mashinani and in both houses to karanga the courts and Ojinga crew until they scored themselves. Passing the election law and dangling it, forced the courts and IEBC to kwenda laini then once election date had been set, the duo brought all their votes to the ballot. In the end,we have learned that supreme court is BS when you lack the numbers. Even if courts were to annul election for the 2nd time, legislative body and majority voters will still come back and correct the situation. Having numbers really matters!

There was sharp disagreements on how NASA/MRM should move forward. This is why Orengo, the Wet one and MaDvD were not at the lukewarm press conference. Orengo wants to keep rioting and maDvD wants no part of it.

All principles are also pissed at Orengo for asking jaCon to bluff that he will withdraw from the election which ended up costing them everything. They all told jaCon they are exhausted and need a break and can reconvene at a later date.
