Chilling interview
I’m increasingly leaning toward the idea that her move was more compelled by personal gain than anything else
True. She is a dual citizen on unpaid leave from a more highly paying and less stressful UN job. She wanted to get back to her job since things were becoming ugly with Jakom organising disruptions of her trainings, though she had started a funny initiative of touring NASA areas to discuss the residents' willingness or otherwise to carry on with the polls

But first things first she needed to create a narrative for her younger brother and his family to get asylum in the U S of A, hence the allegations of death threats. She did mention through whatsapp. At the same time there are the leaked whatsapp dialogue with NASA honchos which she dismissed as fake. My biggest question, what was her business complaining about Raila non-participation in the poll, thats not her work.

She lied. Or rather she did hide the fact that she has a dual citizenship which AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED HER from being hired as an IEBC Commissioner.

Then there is something morally bankrupt and malicious for an IEBC Commissioner to exercise her right to resign just at the most crucial moment when her input is needed most by the country. For when you take on a public office you take an oath to serve the public without fear or favor. That she can resign just to bring out a crisis to favour her favourite politician shows she does not deserve to be in the public service. What she did is criminal dereliction of duty and a reckless that has no reason.
This is the kind of a person who can stealthily poison your drink and without remorse.

I guess Chebukati wants to resign to fulfil his side of the deal (something like a suicide pact with Akombe) but his conscious makes it harder. For he has no justifiable reason to resign at this time. If he as a Chair cannot manage his Commissioners, who else does he wants to play that role?

Roselyne Akombe's interview with America's National Public Radio (NPR) was cut short after the ex-IEBC commissioner got emotional when hard questions were asked on her Wednesday resignation. Akombe broke down when NPR's Eyder Peralt told her that after her resignation half of Kenyans were dismissing her claims because they viewed her as partisan.

The harsh reality when you are exposed by those you thought might believe you and your employer offers no support:

Question: Does the UN, given that she obviously has been a respected member of DPA and that she said publicly on BBC that the election on 26 October will not be… cannot be credible, does the UN share that assessment?

Spokesman: Her assessment is hers and hers alone. Yep, in the back. Go ahead.
